The Mitchell Endoscopy Center was founded by Dr. Edgar Mitchell in 19xx. His son’s Dr. Richard Mitchell and Dr. Robert Mitchell joined the practice in 19xx. They have maintained the sterling reputation their father earned in the Richmond community.

Richard and Robert are many times affectionately referred to as the Mitchell brothers by their patients. As patient age gastrointestinal issues come to the forefront and it is not uncommon to hear a conversation in which an informal referral is made by a patient with a comment like: “I had that problem, but I went to the Mitchell brothers and I am much better.”

 

 

 

 

The Mitchell Endoscopy Center uses the latest tools and procedures to find the cause of the symptoms you are experiencing so than we can help you return to good health.

Some of The diagnostic Tools Used Include:

• COLONOSCOPY – in which we scope the large intestine with a flexible camera
• ESOPHAGEAL MANOMETRY – where we test the pressure in the lower intestine
• UPPER GI ENDOSCOPY – were we scope the stomach and the small intestine
• ERCP(Endscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatograpy) – scoping the pancriatic ducts

We get to know our patients so that we can help them maintain their health for life. Gastric problems can become more common as our patients age and familiarity not only the patients past medical issues, but the whole patient including their personality, help us more effectivly treat the patient.

Generally, we first see new patients when they have there first recommended screening Colonoscopy when they turn fifty. Most of these patients return throught their lifetime as Gastric problem become more of a consideration to their health.
